And On to Missouri

Our camping spot in Pittsburgh was right in the middle of town, so the ride started by heading south in town, then turning left.  Not far out of town  I crossed the state line into Missouri

The road was actually flat and pretty straight, passing through cornfields.  There was a cropduster working right next to the road, flying between wind generators as he made his passes from east to west.  Interestingly, he came all the way down to the corntops for his passes, so I didn't get any spray.  And believe it or not, I had a tailwind.  RV camping spots are somewhat few and far between in this part of the world,  we had a reserved spot on Lake Stockton, somewhat north of the bike route.

Not for long, was it flat. As I turned north to head to the campsite, there was a fairly long 9-10% hill.  So this is what Missouri is famous for.   Stopped in town for a cold drink, then went north (up and down) for 11 miles to the campsite at Ruark State Park.

Very hot and muggy.  Fortunately our AC works well.  The only hook-up was power, so I took a shower and washed out my cycling kit in the communal shower facility.  The water wouldn't turn cold, so I showered, then washed out my kit,  then showered again, and was soaking wet from sweat by the time I walked back to the camper.  Here's a shot across Lake Stockton in the evening.

Here's a profile of the day,  couldn't crop all the phone stuff in the image.
